It's been a while (1,5 years) since Tashkent Browncoats published a PR. While the team has been performing more or less steadily, I personally have been busy with non-cycling-related activities so I haven't had the time to write PR's. It has been a beautiful couple of seasons for us, especially last season (S48), in which we got our highest ever amount of points in one season (593) and 3rd places in the Monte Rosa and Race of the Minutemen GC's.
This season, we have still a slight hope of breaking that record even though we typically score little points in the end of the seasonIt does not matter however, as today Erazm Debski brought us our probably biggest achievement in the teams history: Winning the augurational edition of the Tian-Shen Stone City Cup.
Ever since I picked up my first OCM manager role a little over 8 years ago it has been a dream to win a tour (cups didn't exist back then). That ambition remained unchanged after the founding of Tashkent Browncoats 5 years ago. Finally, my palmares isn't so tauntingly empty (or, at least, it will be as soon as a trophy is put in the game). And it's hard to choose what is most symbolic of this victory. The fact that it's the first edition? That two out of three stages are set in the same city where our team is based, and the huge crowds of fans along the route? Or is it that it's won by Erazm, our most succesful self trained rider?
In the end, it doesn't matter, because we know all that we have to know: Erazm Debski has written history for our team, for our city, and for me. And while some other managers might wonder how it can take you eight years to get something on your palmares, I know that the wait makes the reward even better
